Dr. Khoury has resigned from the Base Hospital

17th May, 2023

Dear Patient,

I am writing to let you know that as of this week, I have resigned from the Albury Base Hospital after 24 years of service.

It has been a privilege to meet and care for all of my patients during this time. However, the lack of progress regarding the waitlist is unacceptable, after numerous attempts over the past 4 years to try resolve the issues.

There are other options available for you to consider, such as self-fund your surgery, or looking at a private health funds to assist you. Many of our patients have made the decision to pursue these options instead of the lengthy waiting times.

If you would like to make a time to speak with our rooms regarding your options for surgery, my assistant Jessica is happy to assist you and will be available on Fridays to speak with you.

Understandably, if you would prefer your surgery to be reallocated to another surgeon at the Albury Base Hospital, arrangements can be made by the hospital on your behalf. Please contact the hospital directly on 0260584476 or via orthopaedic.unit@awh.org.au.

If you would like your relevant history to be sent to the Albury Base Hospital please provide our rooms with your consent via admin@ekortho.com.au.

I will remain practising in Albury, operating at the Private Hospital and from Cabrini Private in Melbourne to be able to service more complex patients.

Thank you for your understanding and trusting me with your care. I wish you all the very best and I would be happy to see you in my rooms, if you need further assistance.

Kind Regards,

Mr. Elie Khoury
